This section of my site should be re-branded to DIYs for Lazy Fashion People. ‘Cause these projects are easy, y’all.
I’ve been obsessing over adorable, feminine sun hats of late, but none of them seem to fit my budget. So I pulled this old hat out of my closet, removed the tacky gold chain that came with it, and voila!
I think the best part about this DIY is that it isn’t permanent, so it’s perfect if you want to switch out the ribbon for specific events, or if your outfits change with your mood (like mine often do).
- A sun hat
- Ribbon (of your choice)
- A lighter
- Working with the ribbon still attached to the spool, roughly measure how big you want your bow.
- Begin to tie the bow, similar to as you would with shoe laces.
- Don’t worry if your bow is ugly at first… pull and tug at the loops and tails to create your ideal look.
- Trim your edges.
- Lightly run a lighter past the edges to seal them.
